On this bill is also your tv licence fee and council tax which here in Crete is very small. There is no rubbish collection from outside your house, you will have to take your rubbish to one of the many bins that are along most roads, any bin will do and they are often emptied every other day in summer. Most of the large supermarkets are open 8am to 9pm six days a week but are closed Sundays. There is a market in Chania 4 days a week which moves around the city and is excellent for fresh vegetables and fruit. |
